#UOBeauty: The Cruelty-Free Edit
Urban Outfitters is known for their high street versions of high-end fashion, but they're starting to catch attention as a beauty retailer as well. From well known brands like Anastasia Beverly Hills to more indie brands like Winky Lux, #UOBeauty has it all- but what is cruelty free? Below is out Guide to cruelty free beauty at Urban Outfitters- let us know below what your favorite brand is.
Major Makeup Brands
While Urban is known as a more "hipster" spot, they carry a lot of well-known brands like Anastasia Beverly Hills, NYX Cosmetics, Pixi Beauty, and Stila. They also carry midrange brands that have risen in popularity like LimeCrime, Sigma Beauty, bhCosmetics and MILK Makeup.
Indie Makeup Brands
Sadly, most of the Indie makeup brands sold at Urban are K-Beauty, and information on their cruelty free status is limited. Pony Effect makes no mention about their stance on animal testing, which usually means that they do, and Missha Cosmetics sells in China and is required to test on animals by law. Gourmand is Urban's own brand, and no information is available on them either.
Major Skincare Brands
#UOBeauty also has a large Skincare section, including big names like Mario Badescu, Sunday Riley, Herbivore, and Pixi. These four core favorites are a great selection to choose from when it comes to skincare, covering all avenues of price.
Indie Skincare Brands
Unlike the indie makeup brands sold at Urban, the cruelty-free indie skincare brands, outnumber the major ones offered in store. Brands including NuReveal, E-Nature, Willow Mayor and KNC Beauty offer luxury K-beauty options, and brands like Heritage Beauty offer a cheaper, hippie-esque alternaive.
