With 50 shades under their belt, Bite Beauty’s The Lip Pencil is a creamy, long lasting formula that rivals that of MAC’s pro-longwear lip pencil. From brown nudes to bright pinks and even navy blues, The Lip Pencil is a standard wooden pencil that is formulated without Parabens, Sulfates and Phthalates, so it’s actually safe to put near your mouth.

On first application, the pencil is ridiculously creamy, and opaque. There’s no question that you get your $18 worth here, because the color payoff is unreal. The only application issue we encountered was that it caught onto any dry patches on lips, so if you’re a culprit of forgetting your lip balm, this pencil might give you some problems. But although it doesn’t look great if your lips are already dry, it doesn’t make them any drier, which is something MAC lip pencils often do. Another positive is the colors are true to the description on Sephora, the shade 040 is described as a Rich Toffee and that’s what it is: a dark brown shade with a neutral-to-warm undertone.

Upon removal, we used a Cleansing Balm and it rubbed off easily, without staining lips.

Our final decision? These lip pencils rock, and are a great replacement for any alternative that isn't cruelty free.
