Maple Holistic's Silk 18 Conditioner
Here at Edith & June, we receive product often from brands and companies and are asked to test them. However, we only make posts about products that we really like and use.
Like skincare, haircare is one of those try and try again routines until you find the perfect product for your specific hair, and with the over saturated market that is beauty nowadays, that can be a difficult task. And on top of that, finding a product that works and is also free of any bad ingredients? Nearly impossible.
After finding out about Maple Holistics’ new silk line, we were intrigued to give it a try: a product that makes your hair feel like silk with all clean ingredients at a good price- it sounds too good to be true. Blended with 18 silk amino acids, this line is meant to decrease frizz while strengthening hair and smoothing the texture. Maple Holistic also uses ethically sourced ingredients and recycled packaging as well as being cruelty free.
Before using this conditioner, I was using a simple clean drugstore conditioner that did the trick, but I wasn’t thrilled. I have slightly curly, wavy hair that I recently dyed back to natural color so while it isn’t terribly damaged, I do heat style on occasion and I’m constantly pulling it into low buns and ponytails. But, after using the Silk 18 conditioner 2-3 times a week, I noticed a significant difference in my hair, especially my curls. They weren’t so frizzy, and my hair looked shiny and fortified- without being greasy or oily. I applied the conditioner to the bottom of my hair and let it sit while I went about the rest of my shower, and soak up the delicious vanilla cupcake scent of the conditioner, then rinsed and dried my hair normally.
I’d highly recommend this conditioner for someone looking for a clean beauty alternative to a light, but strengthening conditioner, and while I didn’t try the shampoo, I’m sure that when used as a duo, you end up with sleek, soft and light hair without any buildup or goop from chemicals.
