New in From The Detox Market

Last week, I decided to try out a couple of items that I’d been coveting from The Detox Market for a while. Since some of these items were replacements for items that were just about out, it was the perfect time to place an order. Check out what I picked up below and whether or not I’ll be keeping it or sending it back.

Kosas Tinted Face Oil

Since I was almost out of my trusty Glossier Skin Tint, I wanted to try something that was similar with maybe a touch more coverage. I loved that this was called a tinted face oil, as someone with dry skin, an oil based foundation is perfect for me. The coverage also looked ideal for someone like me with a bit of uneven skintone, so I ordered Tone 2 and waited to try it out. For me, Tone 2 was a perfect match, and I moisturized my face as usual, but when I applied the product, dry patches that I hadn’t even known were there cropped up. I applied with my fingers, as recommended, but the oil feels like an extremely dry oil, bot moisturizing at all. For someone with oilier skin, this would be a great tinted face product that also helps to control oiliness on the face, however as someone with dry skin, I just couldn’t get this to work. Even if I applied a moisturizing oil underneath the product, it still brought all of my dry patches to the surface.

Odacite GT+L Radiance Serum Oil

After seeing someone use this in a YouTube video, I was convinced this would be the ideal oil for my skin. Since it’s main focus is to bring radiance to the skin it’s less likely to be a dry oil, and the Green Tea and Lemongrass based formula wasn’t something I had used on my skin before. Long story short: I love this oil. I mix it with my moisturizer for the best application, using one drop at night and two in the morning. So far it hasn’t clogged my pores or cause any cystic breakouts, and I absolutely love the lemon scent that it carries through application. My skin does look more radiant in the morning after application and it doesn’t cause any excess redness or ridiculous oiliness- just a glow.

Vapour Mesmerize Eyeliner in Truffle

I’ve been looking for a good, creamy brown eyeliner for a few months and although I was thinking of getting the Kjaer Weis pencil, I saw the phenomenal reviews on this one and gave it a try. Not only is this liner exquisitely priced at just $20, it also is the best liner I have ever used. Truffle, the brown shade, is brown without looking like an eyebrow pencil, a touch of taupey-purple lends it’s hand to its lovely ability to bring out any eye color. I like to apply it to my upper lash line for every day wear or smudge into the lid for a little extra smoke. Who needs eyeshadow when you have this creamy dream?

rms Eye Polish in Lunar

This was possibly the most exciting purchase of this whole order as I was so excited to pick this one up for the holidays. This stunning shade is the perfect neutral gloss/shimmer shade for summer or the holidays and could even double as a cream highlighter on darker skintones. While it applied gorgeously with the fingertips and blends out seamlessly, it doesn’t last very long and creases quite easily as well. An Eye primer stopped the creasing, but it did wear away quite quickly. If you don’t have oily eyelids, I’m sure this product will work perfectly for you.

Ilia Essential Brow Gel

And the most disappointing product of all goes to this highly anticipated release from Ilia Beauty. While you guys know I absolutely love Ilia Beauty (I have basically one of each product they offer and love them all) this product just didn’t do it for me. The brush is amazing, with a dual sided applicator, one side with extra long bristles, and the bristles really grip the brow hairs for applying product. However, the product itself completely flakes all over my entire brow no matter how much product is on the brush. I was absolutely crushed, as I liked the initial color, pigmentation and applicator, but for some reason the product completely flakes all over my face, destroying my brow hopes and dreams.
