Why We're Dissapointed with Drunk Elephant's New Cleanser

Drunk Elephant Skincare is one of our most recommended brands for sensitive skin and most requested brand to review. Their innovative sensitive skin position draws those who have struggled with skincare in the past, and point them in a direction of non-toxic products that are a breath of fresh air for skin. Recently, we tested their new jelly cleanser, and were disappointed. Keep reading below to find out why.

It's Ineffective

While this cleanser claims to whisk away any trace of makeup and dirt, we found that it only scratched the surface of our makeup off, without removing anything deeper. Not only was makeup still visible on lashes and eyebrows, but wiping the skin with a micellar water revealed tons more makeup left on the skin, no matter how much of the Jelly Cleanser we used.

It's Not Safe for Eye Use

Although it says you can use it on eyes, we would highly advise against it. When we tried to use this to remove mascara and eyeshadow, it burned our eyes for a lingering period of time and blurred our vision. With the claim it removes all makeup, it's sad that it's so painful on the eyes.

Dries Out Skin

While this could be a pro for oily or combination girls, any girls with normal to dry skin will find this product severely dries out skin. After two-three days of use, our skin felt dry, tight and was even flaking on those with drier skin. It claims to leave skin soft, but to anyone who wasn't oily it did just the opposite, turning skin texture upside down.

The Final Word

Sadly, this product was a huge miss for us. It was ineffective and we found that none of it's claims were true. Do you use this product regularly and it works for you? Let us know down below!
