At The Desk with Pseudo Labs

The products featured in this post were gifted to us by Pseudo Labs, however the opinions in this article are all our own and not influenced by the gifting of product.

The freckle trend is rooted in whimsical beauty standards, sharing the room with fluffy hair, glossy eyelids and perfectly sun-kissed skin that’s undetectably makeup. For me, it started with a childhood obsession with Anne of Green Gables- the braids, the freckles and the attitude were all something I aspired to have as a young adult, if dreams really came true. And while I might have two out of the three naturally, my freckles, at their darkest at the end of the summer, will still never be as fantastical as Anne’s. That was, until Pseudo Labs came along.

Pseudo labs makes all of my freckle dreams come true by creating the most realistic freckle formula, color and application technique I have used yet. The phreckles, as they’re called, come in three shades, so there’s really a color for everyone as each shade spans multiple different skin tones.

To apply Phreckles, you use a white pin that comes with each tube to brush the bristles of the applicator upwards or downwards, creating a splatter affect onto your face. I like to give them a second to settle and then lightly press with my fingertips to really blend them into my skin and make them appear seamless. The great thing about this application technique is that it’s a lot less precise than other freckle makeup that requires you to put on each individual freckle which makes it look much more realistic. It’s also much quicker than applying each individual freckle dot and working to achieve the “perfect'“ set of freckles.
