Clean Beauty in the Drugstore

Just like every type of beauty product, there are luxury and drugstore versions of clean and natural beauty becoming widely available. At stores like Target, CVS, and Fairway Markets, there’s a wide array of natural and clean beauty products available at a low price. These are our favorite clean beauty drugstore swaps to try in your routine for a less expensive, but cleaner, product.

Thayer’s Witch Hazel Toner, $8

This cult favorite is a must have for those who want to try a drugstore toner that actually works. We love to pour a little on a cotton pad and wipe down the face after cleansing to help tighten pores and add a hydrating layer to the skin to prep for serum and moisturizer. Thayer’s has multiple scents, including Rose, Lavender, Lemon, and Cucumber, so there’s a toner for everyone.

Native Natural Deodorant, $12

You’ve heard us talk about how much we love the Schmidt’s Geranium Flower deodorant before, which is also a great drugstore buy, but we also wanted to talk about Native, because for those who don’t like the Schmidt’s formula, this is a great alternative. With half a dozen different scents from Eucalyptus and Mint to Jasmine & Cedar, we’re obsessed with the easy application, and the lasting power that keeps us from smelling all day.

Alba Botanics Hawaiian Green Tea Sunscreen, $6

If you’re looking for an under-the-makeup suncreen that won’t break the bank, this Alba Botanics one is SO GOOD. It’s a non-greasy formula that won’t let your makeup slide around, just adding a layer of protection and hydration to your face. There’s no fragrance added, nor the usual nasty stuff and it’s also a recyclable package to help reduce even more waste.

ACURE Seriously Soothing Cloud Cream, $18

A little on the pricier side of drugstore, Acure is our go-to brand for all things drugstore clean beauty. We raved about their face scrub here, (and we’re still loving it) and they also sell a range of moisturizers, oils, and even shampoos. This gorgeous daycream is a less expensive version of Herbivore’s Pink Cloud, and uses hyaluronic acid to help skin soak up more hydration and hold on to it longer.
