Our Valentine's Self Care

Happy Valentine’s Day to all our lovely readers! Today we wanted to say thank you by giving you a great self-care guide to get your Valentine’s Day off to a great start (or end). Whether you have a significant other on this day or not it’s still a great day to do a little bit of self care and say I love you to the person who matters the most: YOU!

One of our favorite long-term self-care’s is to take a vitamin every day, and currently we’re loving the HUM Nutrition Hair Sweet Hair. If you’re trying to grow out your hair for the summer, taking this will make your hair feel soft and look shiny if not growing faster. We love the berry flavor, and we also love the Glow Sweet Glow gummies that have a blend of hyaluronic acid and vitamin C to help skin glow and keep flakes at bay during the winter months.

Next up is all of the makings for a good relaxing bath. Now I know that baths are an overplayed record for self care, but it really is so relaxing to just let yourself exhale in the bath, let the water take you and just relax with a good book. Tonight we’re going to be curling up with these Mullein & Sparrow bath salts, they have an amazing rose scent as well as lavender, and we’re gonna be lighting some of our favorite candles. We’re obsessed with Bijou candles right now, a cruelty free, American made small business run by witches which is awesome in it’s own right. Each candle is named after a famous woman in history or famous witch, and some of our favorite scents include Bette which is the summer berry scent, as well as Ava, a light smoky fruits scent, and Judy: an autumn maple syrup and cornbread dream.

In the tub we’re definitely going to be watching some iconic romance movies like 10 things I Hate About You or Love Actually but if a book is more your style, here’s some awesome books that we’ve been loving the past year.

Paris by the Book is a romantic mystery about a woman who moves to Paris to find her lost husband who may or may not still be alive. You travel along with her as an ex-pat trying to make sense of a foreign country and a missing husband.

Circe this is a really great self love book about the Greek goddess Circe who is banished to an island by her father, and the way that she finds self-love, self support and self sustenance in creating her own homestead and the way she deals with visitors and people visiting from her past.

If you’re more of a thriller person, we recommend anything by B.A Paris, she has amazing books like Bring Me Back and The Breakdown where things aren’t always what they seem if you want to creep yourself out on this Valentine’s Day.
